rehabdigest: the rehabdesign newsletter
introduction
welcome

Welcome to the first edition of rehabdigest, rehabdesign's regular news update. Our aim is to introduce ourselves to those of you that don't know us, and to stay in touch with those that do. rehabdigest will be a snapshot of what's happening at rehabdesign and will be an opportunity for us to tell you anything we think you should know.

rehabdesign™ was formed in 2001. We are a multi-disciplinary graphic design and print practice based in Brighton (well, Hove, actually). Our team mixes diverse backgrounds, skills and hairstyles, working together to bring out the best in each other and our clients, whatever the project. We take an informal approach to encourage the best and most appropriate ideas, and then apply them with commercial realism. Simple.

We're pretty flexible in the way we work and adapt the design process to fit each project, whether it be a simple business card, a website or a complete corporate identity. We always welcome ideas or specific requirements you may have and our creative team liaise directly with the client to make sure each project is delivered on brief, on time and to budget and with the minimum of stress.

in rehab

In each issue of rehabdigest we want to give you the opportunity to find out a little more about us. As he's the new kid on the block, we'll kick off with Trevor, as we don't know much about him either. He's on the couch, ready to face a barrage of probing questions...

Full name: Trevor May
Age: 31
Position: Interactive designer

By which method of transport do you arrive at work each day? As much as I'd like to be able to say 'Jet pack' — by foot or, more rarely, by bike.

Who was your first crush, and is this topic often discussed at rehabdesign™? I really can't remember. Though thanks to Wikipedia I have discovered that 'Crush' was the name of the band in TV's Byker Grove, featuring a young Donna Air. She wasn't my first crush, incidentally. I've never discussed this at rehabdesign but I have a feeling I'm going to now...

You're working late one evening. What music would you be listening to? Maybe a bit of Broken Social Scene, The Fiery Furnaces or one of Spencer Krug's many bands.

If you were to go into actual rehab, what addiction would you be fighting? I don't know... is nail biting an addiction?

You have a week off. Unheard of, we know, but just pretend. Where do you go? Tokyo, Japan. It's the flashing swirly neon — draws you in a like a fly.

If you could only watch one film, over and over again, for the rest of your life, what film would that be? I was going to say Blade Runner... but the thought of watching that just twice in a row would probably shorten my life considerably. I'll opt for Back to the Future.

In the next issue of rehabdigest Juliette, our 1950's obsessed copywriter will be 'In rehab'.

rehabdesign goes interactive

At the end of last year we welcomed Trevor May to our studio. Trevor is our new interactive designer and brings with him over 10 years' experience in digital media in both the UK and USA. The downside to Trevor's arrival is that we have to make an extra cup of coffee per round; the upside is that we can now offer you a comprehensive web design service. Whether you require a full internet or intranet site or just a simple banner ad, give us a call (01273 772702) or drop us an email at recover@rehabdesign.co.uk.

You can find out more about Trevor, and his considerable knowledge of Byker Grove, to the right.

item two

a belated happy new year

We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a happy and prosperous new year. 2006 proved to be a very successful year for us and this year is already shaping up to be another busy one with many projects already underway or complete. These include a new identity for Southwark Children's Services, print and web design for A Picture of Health for South East London and a number of new book titles for Quid Publishing.
